Interesting facts:

The picturesque Alven Ferguson farm was a stunning example of an original homestead, with its well-maintained house and out buildings. It was built in 1905 by John Billing, who built several other significant stone and brick buildings in the area. The rolling hills on the property were once home to grazing cattle, and a short-lived post office named Winston is said to have been located somewhere on the large property. The big barn was lost in the August 2006 tornado.

The property was the home of Highgate Alpacas.
