Interesting facts:

To distinguish the William Harrisons, they were nicknamed: "White" Bill Harrison (William Henry), "Red" Bill Harrison, and "Black" Bill Harrison of Minden. Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds. Published by The Provisional County of Haliburton, Minden, Ontario 1973 pg. 316

Around 1912, the original wooden bridge spanning the neck of water between Big and Little Boshkung, fell into disrepair and was condemned by the road overseer. However, the travelling public chose to risk its rickety timbers rather than detour several miles. That year "White" Bill Harrison happened to buy a cow from the other side of the Damyon bridge. Whether she was extra hefty or not, the story does not say, but the shaky timers parted in midstream and Harrison and the cow fell into the water. Both could swim and escaped with nothing worse than a ducking. Not long after, the water was spanned by the steel structure standing at present. Source: Ibid pg. 316
