Interesting facts:

The favourite sport in Stanhope's early days was baseball. A picture taken at a a Boshkung picnic sometime before 1900 shows the ball team in matching striped uniforms and natty caps. Public campgrounds were on property to the west of Little Hawk Lake Road.
