Among the early settlers [of Hindon Hill] were William John Walker Sr. and his wife Rebecca who came from Ireland to the neighbourhood of Peterson's Corners in 1863. Their son, Thomas, born there in 1866, lived his entire life in the vicinity; his brother Johnson lived in Minden while James Walker resided in Gelert. Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds. Peterson's Corners Post Office - 1878 to 1931: The post office was located at the home of the current Postmaster, which was at most one mile from the junction of the Bobcaygeon and Peterson Roads.
