Interesting facts:

Rueben Rowe Henderson provided large quantities of hides and tallow for the general store, and also supplied lumber camps like Gilmours and Rathburns with both hay and slaughter animals. Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds. Published by The Provisional County of Haliburton, Minden, Ontario 1973 pg, 266.

In his 1966 Collection of Sketches, "The Drovers Tale, as recorded by Jos. Hewitt", Clayton Rogers tells how lumbering and agriculture developed side by side. The lumber camps became a prime market for agricultural produce: Mr. Rueben Henderson residing on a farm fronting on Lake Kushog with his brother Miles of Minden Township secured contracts from Mickle Dyment Co. for the furnishing of their beef supply for the season. This contract was renewed and they held this market for some years.
