Lewis Pitchard, along with L. A. Pritchard and J. L. Dawson of Minden purchased the holding [of Sir Sam Hughes' summer home over looking Eagle Lake] in 1942. The donated 3 acres (later sold to Sam Graham) to the MInden and Haliburton Rotary Club before disposing of the bulk 1,600 acres to Messr.s Proctor and Priddle in 1944.
