Interesting facts:

John Thomas Mason was the eldest son of Thomas Mason, the Patriarch of Boshkung. He eventually settled along the Peterson while his brother, Alfred, assumed the management of the homestead when the encroaching years slowed the steps of the "lion of Warwick." Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds. On his death registration, his occupation was blacksmith until Oct 1940, presumably when he became unable to work because of stomach cancer.
