Interesting facts:

John Thomas Mason was the eldest son of Thomas Mason, the Patriarch of Boshkung. He eventually settled along the Peterson while his brother, Alfred, assumed the management of the homestead when the encroaching years slowed the steps of the "lion of Warwick." Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds. Published by The Provisional County of Haliburton, Minden, Ontario 1973 pg.308

It appears that for a short time between the sale of his properties on the 12th and 13th concession in Minden in 1902, and his purchase of the lot on the 1st Stanhope concessionin 1904,  the family had moved to Manitoba. Their son Thomas Alfred Bruce Mason was born in Dufferin, Manitoba in August 1902.

On his death registration, his occupation was blacksmith until Oct 1940, presumably when he became unable to work because of stomach cancer.
