Interesting facts:

Prior to settling in Stanhope township, James Begg had been the owner of a shoe shop in Cold Springs, a village on the road between Gore's Landing and Cobourg.  Ann Sidey was a sister of Hannah Sidey who married James Johnston who patented Lot 26, Conc. 1.
