• 1883: James & Peter Begg were among the settlers  who called for mail in Carnarvon. In Quest of Yesterday. pg. 317
• 1888  James Begg and his family moved to Washington State, USA.

Interesting facts:

Prior to settling in Stanhope township, James Begg had been the owner of a shoe shop in Cold Springs, a village on the road between Gore's Landing and Cobourg.  Ann Sidey was a sister of Hannah Sidey who married James Johnston who patented Lot 26, Conc. 1.
