Interesting facts:

In the 1901 & 1911 census, Jacob's wife, Elizabeth A. (Blakey) Faulkner, was listed as the head of the household. Jacob Sr died in 1900; cause of death: killed by logs.

Mr. Jake Faulkner, who lived at Halls Lake, was a confirmed believer in lunar influence and would never sow any kind of seed unless the moon was in the right quarter. When he tried to convince a neighbour to do the same, he received this decided reply: "When my hand is ready to plant, to hell with the moon!" Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds.
