Boskung Post Office - 1878 to 1962: The post office at Boskung was located in the homes of the Postmasters. From 1878 until 1958 the office was open year around. It then became summer only until it finally closed in 1964. Angus Coulter was the postmaster from Apr 5, 1924 to Mar 10, 1945.
In 1945 William Reynolds sold [the Horseshoe Lake (Elsie) post office and homestead] to Mr. and Mrs. Angus Coulter who founded Horseshoe Lodge. They were the last to keep Elsie post office for since 1946 the area, now heavily populated with summer cottagers, has been served by rural mail. Source: In Quest of Yesterday by Nila Reynolds.
