Wilmer Brushey

Settler of township lots: Pt. Lot 13, Con 14, Nightingale Twp

Map Point: The location of the Brushey homestead on this map is approximate within Pt. Lot 13, Con 14 BUT it is shown in Livingstone Twp on Roger Lake

Dates of residency: The Brushey family was enumerated at this location during the census of 1911.

Interesting facts: Wilmer Brushey was of French origin, although he was born in Ontario. He married Martha Garsky, who was of German origin, and they had a child named Josephine in 1909. He worked as a Section Foreman along the Ottawa-Arnprior-Parry Sound railway that ran through Algonquin Provincial Park. His daughter, Mary Josephine, was born at Brule Lake inside the park, which was one of the stops along the railway and - incidentally - the highest point that trains passed between Ottawa and Parry Sound.
