Mr. Frank Ellison was a Real Estate Broker in Rochester. In 1914 he purchased 25 acres on the north narrows of the lake from the Crown. Whether or not the square log cabin was originally an abandoned homestead, or whether Mr. Ellison was responsible for its construction, is in doubt. We do know that he first used the cabin as a base for hunting and fishing. During the 1920's he holidayed with his wife and teen-aged daughter Helen, a rather lonesome experience for a teenager at that far end of the lake. Helen married McKay Patterson. Shortly after his death the property was sold to Myra and Leon Lambert.
