Interesting facts: The Dollar House, located just left of the Gilmour office, was built in 1892 as a boarding house before being taken over by Lockman’s daughter upon her marriage to Mr. Dollar of the U.S. Dollar Shipping Company. Mrs. Dollar was popular for her candy apples at Halloween. The lilac bushes along this road are from stock she had shipped over from Dorset, England.
