Interesting facts:
In 1946 John & Emma Berry (Berry’s Cabins) added land fill and built a snack bar and 3 rental cottages, slogan: “It’s the Berry’s”.
Dick & Evelyn Hewitt delivered newspapers to Berry's. Their daughter says: I remember Berry's place well as it was the last stop on our newspaper route that started in Minden. The station wagon was loaded to the bursting point with room for the driver - either Mom or Dad and one of us kids squeezed on top of papers in the passenger seat. No seat belt laws in those days and no air conditioning. Trips were often hot and dusty. Sometimes when we got to the end of the line we would have an ice cream, even though we sold ice cream at home. What I remember most was they had a monkey in a gazebo like cage and we would go out back and feed it, probably peanuts.
At some point the name was changed to Kushog Korners.
1972 - Emma Berry sold to John & Evelyn Rutedge.
2001 - Sandra & Sigurd Von Hunnion closed the snack bar and just rented cottages.
