1948 - Jean Sproule bought 1.52 acres from the Crown. She and her husband had a log building erected for a gift shop, restaurant and motel. This was called Donroyal Inn after her husband and two sons. Unfortunagely, this building burned but was replaced with the name changed to Wild Goos Inn. As well, Mrs. Sproule had bought additional property from the Crown across the highway, where she had cottages built to expand her resort business. From the late 1960's to 1990 this business changed hands four times, new owners were:

• Sam & Sylvia Archibald 1990 renamed it Algonquin Lakeside Inn & Roadhouse
